Loopholes in Apple’s ATT allow companies to collect user data

Apple’s App Tracking Transparency could be giving users a false sense of security they are not being tracked across other iOS applications, ARS Technica reports. With Apple’s ATT, app developers are required to obtain users’ permission to be tracked across other apps. However, even if users decline to give tracking permission, their personal data may still be collected. Researchers claimed loopholes in ATT framework could allow gatekeeper companies that collect first-party data, such as Google and Facebook, to circumvent the protections and collect more user data.
